Say NO to Domestic Violence - Knit bomb Installations

Join us now by knitting squares, pom poms or crochet squares in all colours and sizes that will be sewn together and used to knit bomb Blacktown as part of the 16 days of activism against violence in November.

The aim of the project is to create a visually inspiring temporary public art installation to increase awareness about family and domestic violence.

If you need assistance with obtaining supplies please reach out to us to discuss contact less delivery of yarn.

At the completion of the knit bomb installation in November, the squares used in the installation will be washed and sewn into blankets for local charity organisations.

Calling all Agencies

Blacktown City Council is seeking interest from organisations and services in Blacktown and Mount Druitt to participate in a knit bomb of our City. The aim of the project is to create a visually inspiring temporary public art installation to increase awareness about family and domestic violence. The installation will run during the 16 days of activism against violence from the 25 November 2020.

The main installation, co-ordinated by Council, will take place in the Village Green and street scape of Flushcombe Rd, Blacktown.

Your agency/organisation can be part of this collaborative project by knit bombing a tree, bench seat or other suitable structure within proximity of your service.
