Sydney Metro invites you to watch the story of how an amazing group of passionate people are transforming our city – and witness some extraordinary engineering and construction achievements along the way.

From Wednesday night at 8.30pm on SBS-TV across Australia, a new documentary series will go behind the scenes of how we are building Sydney Metro.

The Australian newspaper has called it “enormously informative and compulsively watchable … a white-knuckle thriller.”

This world premiere series captures the world-class work of the more than 40,000 people who have so far helped deliver Sydney Metro.

In episode 1 we look at the mega tunnel boring machines that are under construction and on their way. Workers need to demolish platforms at Central Station, Australia’s busiest railway station, for the underground metro. And in the city centre, they’re digging a giant hole – right next to a 41-storey city apartment block. A fascinating perspective into the biggest and most advanced new railway opening anywhere on the planet in 2019.
